All That's Left is the Light Fixture!

The kitchen is about 95% complete! The main piece left is installing the light fixture. It arrived this week (see last picture), but my contractor hasn't been able to get over here for a few days. He stopped by today and measured a few things, so I'm hoping the light will go up Monday. Let me know what you think! Oh, and the floors in the living and dining room are done, too. I had them refinished. It's like having a whole new floor. Woo hoo!

Unacceptable, Unnecessary, Unbelievable

It's a sad day for Hawkeyegirl. The shame, humiliation and frustration of losing the annual football game against the junior college across the state is virtually unberable. It's made all the more frustrating by our coach's poor record against the Cyclowns from Cow Pie High: 3-6.

I love coach, don't get me wrong, but he makes $2.7 million a year. He's the highest paid state employee! He makes more than the governor, but that's okay because the governor is a buffoon. Without belaboring the issue, Iowa should always win this game. That's all I can say about this subject. I'm crushed.

Tomorrow is another day, and it's the birthday of a special little boy I know. Thanks to the Faithful for praying for the little guy.

Almost Done!

Well folks, the kitchen is almost done! I'm down to just some punch list items, such as the cabinet hardware, the light fixture (it's on back order and should arrive near the end of the month), and a couple other items. I decided that since things are already pretty dirty around here that I'd go ahead and have my hardwood floors refinished, too. They're pretty scuffed up and worn, so a nice sanding and finish will do the trick. Take a look and let me know what you think!
